What we collect
If you only check an address, we collect nothing about you. The lookup runs against public city records (NYC PLUTO, DOB Building Footprints, NYC GeoSearch) and no account or email is required.
If you request a verification, ask a question, or submit the review form, we collect what you type: your name, email, phone number if you provide it, the building address, and any notes you add. Standard, privacy-respecting usage analytics (pages viewed, funnel steps completed) are collected to improve the service.
How it's used
Your information is used to review the building you asked about, to answer your question, and to connect you with an appropriate program specialist only if you request it. Building details from public records are attached to your request so the reviewer arrives prepared.
When a contractor sees your information
Never at the estimate stage. If you ask to proceed after your verification, your details are shared with the certified installation contractor handling your introduction — including, in many cases, firms affiliated with this site's operators. That is the point, and the only point, at which a contractor receives your information.
What we never do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or list brokers. We do not contact you about anything other than the request you made.
Removal
Want your details deleted? Say so via the contact page with the email you used, and the record is removed.
How the service is funded
This site is free for building owners. If — and only if — you ask to move forward after your review, we introduce you to certified installation contractors who participate in the utility programs, including firms affiliated with this site's operators, and the site may be compensated for that introduction. That is the entire model: no fees to owners, no selling of your information, no contractor chosen until you ask.
